DENVER (AP) — Talk around a warmed competition: The diversion between the Detroit Red Wings and Colorado Avalanche was a soothing 65 degrees at puck drop, making this the NHL’s hottest standard season open air amusement.
Before Saturday night, the hottest diversion time temperature was 62 degrees on Jan. 25, 2014, when Los Angeles facilitated Anaheim at Dodger Stadium.
With the sun going down at Coors Field, however, the temperature was relied upon to fall into the 50s by the third period.
The coldest diversion in the outside arrangement was Nov. 22, 2003, when Edmonton facilitated Montreal. The temperature that day was zero degrees with an extreme wind chill.
